COOKING SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

November 15, 2019

Join us on Friday, November 15th at Wedmore Place for a Cooking School Experience featuring Big Island Aquaculture Oysters! Beginning at 6:30 PM in the Wiley Minstrel Lounge adjacent to Cafe Provencal, Wessex Hundred Chef David McClure will demonstrate how to prepare a delicious oyster stew, perfect for cooler weather. Following the Cooking School Experience, all will enjoy a 4-course dinner at Cafe Provencal with the first three courses highlighting Big Island Aquaculture Oysters paired with Williamsburg Winery wines. Each guest will receive a recipe card to recreate the Oyster Stew at home. A three-bottle box including each of the three wines served during dinner may also be purchased with your admission. Plus, when you book a one night stay at Wedmore Place of November 15th, receive 15% off of your room when you use code: COOKING SCHOOL.

Join us on Saturday, November 16th from 1-5PM in the Wessex Hall for our 2nd Annual Fall Oyster Roast. The Wessex Hundred Culinary Team will be cooking oysters from 3 growers over a grapevine fire pit on the Lawn! Play classic  games with the whole family like corn hole and bocce ball inside while you enjoy live music by the Love Cats, or sit outside and enjoy the fire pits and a glass of wine with friends. Each ticket includes unlimited food, adult tickets include 1 glass of wine. A cash bar will serve a selections of Williamsburg Winery wines by the glass as well as local craft beer and a specialty cocktail.

Join us for a German Dinner in Westbury Hall on Friday, November 22nd, hosted by our Founder, Patrick Duffeler! Our Wessex Hundred Culinary Team will create a delicious 6-course menu celebrating the German culinary heritage. Each course will be paired with either a Williamsburg Winery or German wine. The reception will begin at 6PM to be followed by Dinner at 7PM.

Join us at the Williamsburg Winery for a holiday-inspired wine pairing dinner following the Uncorked & Unplugged Holiday Edition Concert! This event is open to those attending the concert as well as to the general public. There will be a wine and oyster reception in the Wessex Hall from 5:30-6PM followed by a delicious 6-course dinner paired with Williamsburg Winery Wines. Tickets are $125 per person or $120 per Wine Club Member.

Join us on Friday, December 6th at Wedmore Place for a Cooking School Experience featuring Edwards Virginia Smokehouse! Beginning at 6:30 PM in the Wiley Minstrel Lounge adjacent to Cafe Provencal, Wessex Hundred Chef David McClure will demonstrate how to prepare a Virginia style surf and turf dish - Carolina Rock Shrimp & Edwards Surry Sausage. Following the Cooking School Experience, all will enjoy a 3-course dinner at Cafe Provencal highlighting Edwards Smokehouse ham, bacon, and sausage paired with Williamsburg Winery wines. Each guest will receive a recipe card to re-create the Carolina Rock Shrimp & Edwards Surry Sausage at home.  A three-bottle box including each of the three wines served during dinner may also be purchased with your admission.  Tickets are $89 each, or $84 for Wine Club members.  Tickets including the three-bottle box of wine to take home are $164 each, or $154 for Wine Club members.   Tickets must be canceled 72 hours in advance to receive a refund.  21 and up only!

Join us in Wessex Hall on Sunday, December 8th at 2 PM for our annual Grand Illumination Day Holiday Feast. Our Wessex Hundred Culinary Team will create a family style meal featuring traditional seasonal favorites. Live holiday music will make for a festive afternoon! A reception with oysters and sparkling wine will begin at 2PM in Westbury Hall to be followed by Dinner at 2:30PM in Wessex Hall. Tickets are $63 each, or $58 for Club members, inclusive of tax and gratuity. An option including bus transportation to Colonial Williamsburg's Merchants Square is available for $78 each, or $73 for Club Members. Tickets include one glass of sparkling wine and 1 glass of red or white wine. Additional wine as well as beer and spirits will be available for purchase.
