The Williamsburg Winery Donates $2,016 to the Riverside Foundation to Support Breast Cancer Patients

The Williamsburg Winery continued its legacy of giving back to the community by creating a special label for its 2019 Rosé to help raise money in support of breast cancer patients treated by Riverside Health System.

The effort resulted in a $2,016 donation from the winery to the Riverside Foundation.

Last October, the Williamsburg Winery partnered with the Riverside Foundation and offered to special label a limited release of the 2019 Rosé, a harmonious wine of gentle fruits and soft spices. A percentage of proceeds from the sales went to programs that support breast cancer patients in the community through the Riverside Foundation.

“We are honored to team up with the Riverside Foundation for a worthy cause that impacts the lives of so many people and their families,” said Patrick Duffeler, founder of the Williamsburg Winery. “Like the Foundation, we are committed to the health and wellness of our community members.”

The fundraiser kicked off as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2020. The check was presented to the Riverside Foundation in the spring of 2021 at the Gabriel Archer Tavern at Wessex Hundred.

Funds will help support preventive screenings and crucial support, such as medication assistance and transportation, and personal patient navigation.

“Our communities deserve exceptional health care and Riverside has a deep commitment to every patient who turns to us for hope, healing and recovery,” said Kristen Witt, Executive Director of the Foundation. “The Riverside Foundation is honored to partner with the Williamsburg Winery to fulfill our mission and commitment to all we serve – to care for others as we would care for those love.”
