The Williamsburg Winery Welcomes Thomas Kayrouz, M.D., to Board of Advisors

WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – The Williamsburg Winery is pleased to announce it has welcomed Thomas Kayrouz, M.D., to its Board of Advisors.

“If there is anything we have all learned in this past year it’s that taking care of our health and wellness is among the most important responsibilities we have,” said Patrick G. Duffeler, The Williamsburg Winery’s Founder and Chairman. “Having an esteemed clinician and health care leader like Dr. Kayrouz join our Board of Advisors underscores our commitment and drive to continue building out the Wessex Hundred farm and property as a destination that provides the environment suited for rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit.”

The Williamsburg Winery and Wessex Hundred is home to wide open spaces, a hotel, the Gabriel Archer Tavern and a growing cycling club.

“We have plans to continue to host health and fitness events here at Wessex Hundred and do all we can to help people live their lives to the fullest,” Duffeler said. “I was honored when Dr. Kayrouz described our farm as a wellness center. As it says on every cork in our bottles, enjoy life. The best way to do that is when you are your healthiest you.”

Kayrouz, president and chief medical officer of Riverside Medical Group, brings a career in medicine and experience developing teams to The Williamsburg Winery.

Kayrouz earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry at the Vanderbilt University College of Arts and Sciences in Nashville before moving on to the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency, chief residency and critical care in pediatrics residency programs at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Washington University Medical Center.

Prior to joining Riverside in June 2020, Kayrouz served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive, for AnMed Health. He also served as the Chief Medical Officer for AnMed Health and Piedmont Health Partners, as a physician executive at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, as the Director of Pediatric Quality and Patient Outcomes at the Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital in Roanoke, and in various director roles in pediatric critical care services at the hospitals and clinics where he built his medical career.

Just as Kayrouz is leading Riverside Medical Group to continue and grow its exceptional service and convenience to patients, Duffeler is doing the same at The Williamsburg Winery.

“We must always be thinking and growing and learning,” Duffeler said. “Most importantly, we must always be looking for ways to bring more value to our customers and build deeper relationships with them.”

Kayrouz lives in Williamsburg with his wife, mother and their family of dogs. He enjoys cycling and cooking, having come from a long line of restauranteurs.
